Officer observes illegal weapon in jeans of presumed GameStop thief

26-year-old Jacob Dies was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon after leaving a pistol in the fifth pocket of his jeans during a potential shoplifting call at a GameStop in Lebanon.

On June 12th, Officer Johns was dispatched to the GameStop located on 617 S Cumberland St in regards to a potential shoplifter. When Johns arrived at the scene, the officer was informed that the reported shoplifter was in a vehicle outside of the business. Johns proceeded to approach the vehicle and made contact with the driver, who was later identified as Jacob Dies.

Once making contact with Dies, law enforcement observed a pistol in the fifth pocket of the man’s jeans. Further investigation revealed Dies to not have a permit to carry the weapon.

Jacob Dies was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a weapon. His bond was set at $1,000.
