Heroin and meth found in man’s wallet when stopped for ID check

41-year-old Charles Hughes was charged with possession of heroin and meth when police stopped him in a parking lot for an identification check, was found to have an active warrant, and was subsequently searched.

On August 9th, Officer Myers approached Charles Hughes at 14422 Lebanon Road in Mt. Juliet carrying a bag in the business parking lots.

When they asked if he had an ID card on him and produced it, they found he had an active warrant out for his arrest. They conducted a search of his person and found meth and heroin in his wallet. Charles identified the drugs and admitted ownership.

Charles Hughes was arrested and charged with possession of meth and heroin and for the active warrant on file. His total bond was set at $7,500.
