Man borrows car from his grandmother, gets charged with joyriding

43-year-old Mark Hale was charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle and violating his probation after he borrowed his grandmother’s vehicle for a few hours and had not returned it after 11 days.

On August 6th, Mark Hale was given permission to use a vehicle belonging to his grandmother Nancy Jackson to run errands for a few hours.

As of August 17th, the vehicle had still not been returned and was thought to be in Alabama.

I spoke with Ms. Jackson over the phone, and she told me that she had no issues with her grandson borrowing her car. She claims that he had permission to use the vehicle from her to take a family member to the doctor’s office. She considered the incident to be unworthy of news reporting.

I could not reach Mr. Hale despite repeated attempts.

Mark Hale was arrested and charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle and violating his probation. He is currently being held at the Wilson County Jail.
