Motorcyclist leaves stolen bike unattended; discovered with previous warrant

26-year-old Taylor Anderson was charged with probation violation, theft, and possession of methamphetamine when police investigated an unattended motorcycle and discovered he had an outstanding warrant and the bike was stolen.

On August 20th, Lebanon Police Officer Cothron was on his patrol route when he observed a motorcycle parked behind Upton heights. As the officer approached the vehicle, a male wearing a riding helmet was observed returning to the motorcycle. Officer Cothron spoke to the rider who identified himself as Taylor Anderson. During a criminal records search, Officer Cothron discovered Anderson had an outstanding warrant for violation of probation.

A search of his person revealed 0.5 miligrams of methamphetamine in Mr. Anderson’s front pants pocket. Officer Cothron also searched the license plate on the motorcycle and discovered it had been had been reported stolen out of Smith County.

Taylor Anderson was arrested and charged with violation of probation, theft of property, and possession of methamphetamine. He is jailed in lieu of a $5,500 bond.
