29-year-old Jiaqi Huang was charged with driving under the influence after he was found sleeping in his car by police responding to a call about a suspicious vehicle.
On September 21st, Mt. Juliet Police Department Officer Jacob Dean was investigating a call that dispatch received about a suspicious vehicle parked on the side of Vanner Road. Upon arrival at the vehicle, officers found Jiaqi Huang asleep at the wheel.
When he was questioned about what he was doing parked on the side of the road, Jiaqi Huang told the officer that he was sleeping in his car until he was sober enough to finish driving home. He was then administered multiple field sobriety tests where he was still noticeably impaired.
Jiaqi Huang was arrested and charged with driving under the influence. He was later released on his own recognizance.
