Carr continued by saying he busted his lip playing basketball that night, and had his son take him to the hospital. Carr told authorities that the nurses at the hospital were taking too long, so he took it upon himself to walk home. Carr was noted to have the smell of alcohol about his person and was taken into custody for his own safety.

John Carr was arrested and charged with public intoxication. He was later released on his own recognizance.
