Woman jailed after running off the road and performing poorly on field sobriety tasks

38-year-old Tiffany Marrone was charged driving under the influence and driving on a revoked license after she ran off the road, couldn’t tell authorities a straight story, and performed poorly on three out of four field sobriety tests.

On September 14th, Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Drew Heath responded to a report of a one-vehicle accident near 5980 Carthage Highway. Trooper Heath spoke with the driver of the vehicle who identified herself as Tiffany Marrone. While the trooper was questioning Tiffany she showed signs of being confused and restless. Tiffany initially advised the trooper that she was pulling off of the highway and did not see the ditch. She later changed her statement and told the trooper that a deer had run out in front of her.

When Trooper Heath asked Tiffany if she had taken any medication or drank any alcohol she advised that she had taken Vyvanse, a prescription commonly used to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Trooper Heath provided her four field sobriety test and she showed clues of impairment in three out of the four tasks. After Tiffany was taken into custody, a system check revealed that her license was suspended out of Washington State for failure to pay fines. Trooper Heath also requested, and was granted, a warrant for a Blood Alcohol Content test.

Tiffany Marrone was arrested and charged driving under the influence and driving on a revoked license and she is jailed in lieu of a $2,500 bond.
