35-year-old William Thompson was charged with domestic assault after he slapped his wife causing bruising and bleeding to her cheek area while driving.
On September 4th, Lebanon Police Officer Rusbridge was dispatched to the Quick Stop located at 308 South Cumberland Street on an assault call. Monique Murray-Thompson told Officer Rusbridge that she and her husband, William Thompson, was traveling to town via Hartsville Pike. Reportedly, Thompson started an argument with Murray-Thompson.
During the argument, Thompson backhanded Murray-Thompson causing swelling and a bleeding cut under her eye on the cheek area. Officer Rusbridge stated that Thompson got out of the vehicle at the Minute Mart on North Cumberland.
William Thompson was arrested and charged on October 8th, with domestic assault. He was released on is own recognizance.
