“I will take care of you and no one will find the body,” man texts drug thief out on bond

38-year-old John Davis was charged with three counts of violating an order of protection after sending threatening texts, stalking a girl, and was later charged with attempted burglary and possession of heroin.

On September 1st, the Lebanon Police Department was notified by Meagin Maddox that John Davis had been coming to her work, located at 1613 West Main Street, and sending her threatening text messages saying things like, “I’m watching you” and “I will take care of you and no one will be able to find the body.”

On September 3rd, the police were called to the home of Meagin Maddox and her roommate, Brittany Saenz, located at 813 Castle Heights Avenue. John was reportedly banging on the door. Both of these incidences violate the order of protection Meagin has had against John since November of 2019, lasting for a year.

On September 6th, John had been seen on camera attempting to open the back door of a work van belonging to Steve Mull’s Plumbing, located at 302 South Maple Street, with a pry bar. John’s attempt to pry open the back door of the van activated the business’s alarm, where he then left the scene before the police arrived.

On September 9th, John crashed into the side of Cody Joe’s Construction, LLC, located at 738 North Cumberland Street, where he then fled the scene without notifying the owner of the damage caused to the building. An employee was able to witness the incident and notified the police.

On September 10th, police were called again to the home of Meagin and Brittany because John was outside the house asking for clothes and food. John was then able to follow Meagin into her home where she yelled at him to “get out of the house,” again violating the order of protection Meagin has against him.

On September 11th, John was arrested on an outstanding warrant. While officers were searching John, a plastic bag was found on him full of heroin.

John Davis was charged with three counts of violating an order of protection, leaving the scene with property damage, failure to give notice on an accident, criminal attempt, possession of burglary tools, and simple drug possession. He is currently being jailed in lieu of a $15,500 bond.
