Improperly displayed tags leads to DUI for Hermitage man

43-year-old Steven Ogden was charged with driving under the influence when he was pulled over for an improperly displayed license plate on South Mt. Juliet Road.

On September 27th, Wilson County Deputy Nathaniel Morse observed a vehicle with an improper display of the license plate. A traffic stop was initiated on South Mt. Juliet Road. According to the affidavit, driver Steven Ogden had slurred speech, was unsteady on his feet, and had the odor of an intoxicant associated with alcoholic beverages on and about his breath and person.

Deputy Morse administered several standardized field sobriety tests, which Ogden exhibited clues of impairment. Ogden admitted to Officer Morse that he had consumed three or four alcoholic beverages before driving.

Steven Ogden was arrested and charged with driving under the influence. He was later released on his own recognizance.
