Man admits to eating meth so police “don’t find it” while being pursued

56-year-old Danny Jenkins was charged with DUI and tampering with evidence after he admitted during a traffic stop that he was eating his meth so that it wouldn’t be found by police.

On September 24th, Mt. Juliet Police Officer Clark was dispatched to the area of The Paddocks at 300 Pleasant Grove Road on a report of a reckless driver. Upon arrival, the vehicle being driven by Danny Jenkins was stopped in front of a business in the parking lot. The officer stated he initiated his emergency equipment to conduct a traffic stop and Jenkins began to drive his vehicle at a slow rate of speed through the parking lot.

Jenkins ignored the officer’s directives through the PA system to stop the vehicle. The officer stated Jenkins did eventually stop and Jenkins was asked to exit the vehicle. The officer observed Jenkins to have very slow movement and was uncoordinated as he exited the vehicle. Jenkins then admitted to consuming meth prior to this contact and the reason he did not stop immediately was because he was eating the meth he had inside the vehicle so that it wouldn’t be found by police.

Danny Jenkins was charged with DUI and tampering with evidence. His bond was set at $2,000.
