Man found disoriented behind wheel on HWY 109 with heroin and needles

49-year-old Danny Williams II was charged with driving under the influence and simple possession after falling unconscious on Highway 109 and performing poorly on field sobriety tests.

On September 28th, Wilson County Sherrif’s Deputy Kenneth Rollins noticed a vehicle parked on the side of Highway 109, near the corner of Quarry Loop Road. He spotted a man in the driver’s seat and stopped to check on him. The driver identified himself as Danny Williams, and the deputy noticed that he seemed to be disoriented.

Williams told Deputy Rollins that he had gotten lost while looking for a wedding rehearsal and he thought he was in Smithville, TN. The deputy offered several field sobriety tests, during which Williams exhibited signs of impairment. He consented to a vehicle search, where Deputy Rollins found a clear plastic baggy that had a brown powdered substance, which he believed to be heroin and several hypodermic needles.

Danny Williams II was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and possession of a schedule I substance. His bonds were set at $1,500 and $1,000, respectively.
