Man’s bulging jacket held $84.38 of Walmart items

33-year-old Joseph Moss was charged with manufacture of methamphetamine, simple possession, theft of merchandise, criminal impersonation when he was observed shoplifting at Walmart and had a bulging jacket when leaving.

On October 5th, Lebanon Police Officer Taylor was dispatched to Walmart located at 615 South Cumberland Street in Lebanon for a reported shoplifter. Amanda Simms, a loss prevention employee stated that she personally observed Joseph Moss place several clothing items inside his jacket and attempted to go through the checkouts. Officer Taylor observed a large bulge under Moss’s jacket and retrieved the items belonging to Walmart, which totaled $84.38.

When Officer Taylor asked Moss his name he gave him an incorrect middle name and social security number. Officer Taylor then searched Moss and located two strips of suboxone inside Moss’s wallet. At booking, Deputy Lucia discovered a clear bag of white crystal-like substance that appeared to be methamphetamine.

Joseph Moss was arrested and charged with child support violation, 2 counts of manufacturing methamphetamine, simple possession (suboxone), 2 counts of criminal impersonation, 2 counts of theft, failure to appear, and 2 counts of probation violation. He is currently jailed in lieu of a $10,000 bond.
