Mother hesitates while holding gun to woman’s head after she and her son break-in

38-year-old Rachel Owens and her 19-year-old son Alexander Owens were both charged with aggravated assault and aggravated burglary after they tore through a woman’s yard, forced entry into her home held her at gunpoint, then shoots up her house.

On October 1st, Nicole Rollins was sitting on her front porch at 1124 Beach Bottom Road, Watertown, Tennessee when she saw a grey Chevrolet Equinox quickly pull into her yard. Inside the vehicle was Rachel Owens, the driver, and her son Alexander Owens. Nicole Rollins and Christopher Hight stated that R. Owens got out of the car with a gun in her hand. Rollins stated that she heard multiple shots coming from the outside of her home. One of the rounds struck the home, before R. Owens and A. Owens forced their way into the home. R. Owens followed Rollins into her kitchen, where she attempted to hide. Once R. Owens caught up the Rollins she held her at gunpoint with the weapon pointed at her head.

Rollins stated that out of fear she retrieved a knife. R. Owens then fired a round into the ground. She said R. Owens pointed the gun back to her head and began to tremble when she was squeezing the trigger. Then R Owens fired a couple of shots down the hallway where Rollin’s daughter sleeps then left with her and her son. Wilson County Sheriff Sergeant Walker Woods conducted an investigation of the scene and recovered multiple casings and a spent projectile from the home.

Rachel Owens was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and aggravated burglary. She remains in jail in lieu of a $65,000 bond. Andrew Owens was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and aggravated burglary. He was released on a $40,000 bond.
