Thieving trio busted in the Belk parking lot

29-year-old Gerald Casteel, 35-year-old Shayla Armour, and 35-year-old Brittany Jackson were charged with theft after taking $1,666 in merchandise from Belk in Mt. Juliet.

On September 22nd, Mt. Juliet Police Officer Gibbs arrived at Belk located at 401 S. Mt. Juliet Road in response to a shoplifting call. Belk loss prevention Christopher Miller witnessed three people who were suspected to have stolen property leave the store and get into a vehicle. The vehicle was still on the property when authorities arrived, and a traffic stop was conducted. The individuals were identified as Brittany Jackson, Gerald Casteel, and Shayla Armour. After positive identification, Loss Prevention Officer Miller explained that Jackson and Armour stuffed items in their purses before they left the store.

All three parties admitted to taking merchandise from the store with a total value of $1,666. When Jackson was run through police records she was found to have a revoked license, and she claimed marijuana that was found in the vehicle after a search. All parties were taken into custody.

Gerald Casteel was arrested and charged with theft of merchandise. His bond was set at $1,000.

Brittany Jackson was arrested and charged with theft of merchandise, possession of marijuana, and driving on a revoked license. Her bond was set at $3,000.

Shayla Armour was arrested and charged with theft of merchandise. Her bond was set at $5,000.
