Antioch man caught with stolen car during traffic stop for speeding

31-year-old Daniel Turman was charged with theft of property, possession of heroin and meth, unlawful drug paraphernalia, and driving on a revoked license after he was pulled over for speeding in a stolen Dodge Challenger on Tate Road.

On November 2nd, Mt. Juliet Police Officer Austin Myers stopped a Dodge Challenger on Tate Lane near West Division Street for speeding. The driver, Daniel Turman, stated that he did not have his driver’s license with him. A police computer check showed that Turman’s license was revoked in Rutherford County in October 2017. The 2012 Dodge Challenger came back as being reported stolen on October 27th from a dealership in Davidson County. Turman was placed under arrest and a search of the vehicle was taken for inventory.

According to the affidavit, Officer Myers found a plastic container that held a plastic bag containing an off-white powder believed to be heroin, a white crystal substance believed to be methamphetamine in a plastic tube, a cut plastic straw used for consuming illegal drugs, a set of digital scales, syringes with capped needles, and two metal spoons with residue.

Daniel Turman was arrested and charged with theft of property, possession of heroin and meth, unlawful drug paraphernalia, and driving on a revoked license. He is currently jailed in lieu of a $12,000 bond.
