Concerned bystander tells police two women are slumped in vehicle; driver charged with DUI

26-year-old Destiny Herron was charged with DUI after she and a passenger were found slouched over in the front seat of her vehicle with the keys in the ignition and an open beer bottle in the cupholder.

On October 22nd, Mt. Juliet Police Officer Elliott was approached by a bystander who stated that they were worried about two people who were inside a vehicle. The officer found two people slumped over in the front seat of said vehicle. Per the report, there was an open beer bottle in the cupholder and the vehicle was not running, however, the keys were in the ignition.

The driver was identified as Destiny Herron and the officer asked her to step out of the vehicle to talk. Officer Elliott reported that Destiny was unsteady on her feet, had glossy eyes, and smelled of intoxicants. She performed field sobriety tasks and reportedly showed clues of impairment.

Destiny Herron was arrested and charged with DUI first offense. She was released on her own recognizance.
