Florida man charged after opening fire during argument with his girlfriend

23-year-old Christopher Allen was charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, driving under the influence, and driving without a license after he cracked his girlfriend in the mouth and fired his weapon into the air.

On November 10th, Wilson County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call at 2425 Cainsville Road which advised that Christopher Allen had fired shots. The deputies stopped him in his vehicle at 1150 Cainsville road. Upon contact, Christopher told them that he had been drinking. Per the affidavit, Christopher had a smell of alcohol on his person and was unstable on his feet. A computer check showed that his Florida driver’s license was no longer valid. He was then asked to perform field sobriety tasks and showed signs of impairment during the process.

Upon further investigation, officers discovered Christopher had been in an argument with his girlfriend, Courtney Sabatell. During the exchange, he reportedly busted her lip, then got into his truck, grabbed his shotgun or rifle, and started firing rounds out of the window. Officers observed her busted lip and marks on her neck from the altercation. They also observed a loaded rife as well as a loaded shotgun inside of the vehicle.

Christopher Allen was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, driving under the influence, and driving without a license. He was later released on a $9,000 bond.
