Man claims he “wasn’t aware of his rights and wants a lawyer” when asked to do sobriety test

31-year-old Todd Wilson was charged with DUI after he refused to perform a standard field sobriety test during a traffic stop.

On October 24th, Mt. Juliet Police Officer Martin stated she was on patrol when she noticed Todd Wilson traveling 58 miles per hour in a 35 mph zone. The officer then conducted a traffic stop and made contact with Todd.

It was stated that Todd had a strong smell of alcohol coming from his breath and person. Todd was then asked to perform a sobriety test, he refused by stating “he wasn’t aware of his rights and wanted a lawyer”. A warrant was then taken out for a blood draw.

Todd Wilson was arrested and charged with DUI first offense. He was later released on his own recognizance.
