Man crashes into tree, comes back to pick up his tools off of the street #DUI

30-year-old Spencer Thompson was charged with leaving the scene and DUI after he crashed his vehicle and admitted to drinking prior to driving.

On October 21st, Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Topps responded to an accident on Belotes Ferry Road in Lebanon. Upon arrival, Troop Topps made contact with Spencer Thompson, who was reported to have smelled of alcohol.

According to the affidavit, Thompson crashed into a tree and left the scene, claiming he came back to get work tools off the road. He admitted he drank two beers before driving and when Officer Topps conducted sobriety tests, he performed poorly on all of them.

Spencer Thompson was arrested and charged with DUI and leaving the scene. he was later released on a $2,000 bond.
