Nashville man charged after being found with suspected heroin

32-year-old Matthew Belcher was charged with possession of heroin after officers found him at Knights Inn and a search revealed what was believed to be heroin in his pants pocket.

On November 9th, Lebanon Police Officer Taylor was on a routine patrol when he noticed a suspicious vehicle at the Knights Inn, located at 903 Murfreesboro Road. He made contact with Matthew Belcher, who reportedly had an outstanding warrant out of Nashville.

Upon search of Matthew’s person, a folded piece of paper with what was believed to be heroin was found in his pants pocket. According to the affidavit, the weight of the suspected heroin did not register on the scale.

Matthew Belcher was arrested with an active warrant and charged with possession of heroin. He was later released on a $1,500 bond.
