Woman charged after two children under her care found crossing four lanes of traffic

38-year-old Rubbie Green was charged with two counts of child endangerment after leaving a 4-year-old she was babysitting and her 5-year-old unattended outside for an hour while she drank vodka in the house.

On November 13th, Lebanon Police Officer Wigger responded to a call regarding two unattended children in a parking lot of a closed business on East High Street. Officer Wigger arrived to find Lacey Patterson of Alexandria, TN caring for the two juvenile children that had been wandering around unsupervised. The officer’s report stated that the children came from 1416 Inman Court, the residence of Rubbie Green, after crossing four lanes of traffic on East High Street.

Rubbie Green stated that she had been drinking vodka and the children had been outside for approximately an hour. The officer’s report stated that one of the children belonged to Green and she was acting as a baby-sitter to the other child belonging to Percy Long of Hermitage, TN.

Rubbie Green was arrested and charged with two counts of child endangerment. She was released on a $2,000 bond.
