Woman denies police entry to her Travel Inn hotel room; police find drug paraphernalia inside

33-year-old Jessica Burton was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after her roommate admitted to having drugs in their hotel room but she refused to let officers inside to search.

On October 22nd, Lebanon Police Officer Bates responded to a call of suspicious activity at Travel Inn, located at 914 Murfreesboro Road. Upon arrival, Officer Bates made contact with the residents of room 251, Jessica Burton, and Brooks Harrison Thomas. The officer was informed by Thomas there was methamphetamine, marijuana, and a gun inside the room.

Officer Bates stated Burton refused to let him search the hotel room multiple times. After a warrant was obtained, the officer reportedly found hydrocodone, Xanax, methamphetamine, marijuana, a silver container of heroin, a .25 caliber pistol, 3 pipes, 3 scales, rolling papers, and 30 plastic baggies inside. There was also a pipe and a grinder reported in the nightstand on Burton’s side of the bed.

Jessica Burton was arrested and charged with drug paraphernalia. She is currently jailed in lieu of a $1,500 bond.
