21-year-old Ezekiel McFarland was charged with criminal impersonation and improperly being on school premises when he went to Green Hill High School where he used the bathroom, was sent to the assistant principal office, requested a student’s 11th-grade class schedule, and sat down in a classroom.
On November 4th, School Resource Officers Dillard and Ford at Green Hill High School observed a black male entering a bathroom on a video camera. According to the SRO report, the man then went to Assistant Principle Maclean and requested his 11th-grade schedule, stating that his name was Zachary Smith. The man then entered the 6th-period class belonging to Teacher Lawless. Lawless sent an email to Assistant Principal Maclean to inform him that she knew Zachary Smith, and he was a white male. Officer Dillard stated that he went to Lawless’s classroom and questioned the black male. Ezekiel MacFarland, who was later identified, told Officer Dillard that he was Travon Smith with a date of birth of 08/23/99 and resided at 527 Buffalo Trail, Mt. Juliet, TN.
The officer’s report stated that the SRO officer went to the residence and spoke to a woman who stated that she didn’t have a son by the name of Zachary or Travon Smith, but did have a son named Zek McFarland with a date of birth 08/23/99. Officers returned to the school and informed McFarland to never be on the school’s property again. Office Dillard ended his report by saying that the video showed McFarland in the company of a 15-year-old female while at the school.
Ezekiel McFarland was arrested and charged with criminal impersonation, and improperly on school premises. He was released on a $2,000 bond.
