38-year-old Robert Nelson was charged with domestic assault after he was reportedly caught on video hitting his ex-girlfriend when she was having a verbal argument with another person.
On November 23rd, Lebanon Police Officer Polston responded to 228 Cedar Street in regards to an assault call. Jacretia Kelly told Officer Polston that she and Tyresha Burnley had a verbal argument that turned into a physical altercation. Kelly stated that Robert Nelson, her ex-boyfriend, got involved when he struck her in the face with his fist.
According to the victim’s statement, she made no actions to provoke an assault from Nelson. Nickola Dowell, a friend of Kelly, was present and took a video of the assault. Officer Polston stated in his report that the video footage showed Kelly being struck in the face by Nelson.
Robert Nelson was arrested and charged with domestic assault. He was later released on a $1,000 bond.
