Man fails to steal truck, gets man-handled by owner before cops arrive

27-year-old Tyler Gross was charged with criminal trespassing and theft of property after attempted to steal a truck, only to get it stuck in the driveway, and the owner grabbed him out of it before calling the cops.

On November 30th, Lebanon Police Officer Jordan Martin responded to a theft of property call at 208 Draper Lane, where he made contact with Cory Neal and Tyler Gross. Per the affidavit, Cory told the officer that he heard his truck, a 1992 GMC pickup truck, start-up and went to investigate.

He saw Tyler in his truck pulling out of the driveway and into a pile of cinderblocks, causing him to get stuck. Cory grabbed Tyler out of the truck and brought him to the front porch, where he told his father to call the police.

Scoop reporters reached out to Cory and he advised that there were two other accomplices that were hiding in the woods near the house. One of them opened fire on Cory and his father during the altercation. Tyler told Cory that their names were “Chris Cheney” and “Michael Douglass,” but Cory eventually found out that “Michael’s” real name was JP. These two are still at large.

Tyler Gross was arrested and charged with criminal trespassing and theft of property. He was later released on his own recognizance.
