Man found with etizolam after crashing vehicle

39-year-old John Farmer was charged with driving under the influence and possession of etizolam after he reportedly crashed his vehicle and then refused to attempt any standard field sobriety tests offered to him.

On November 21st, Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Joseph Grandstaff was dispatched to Station 4 of the Wilson County Emergency Management Agency located at 6171 Saundersville Road in Mt. Juliet, TN, in regards to a crash. Trooper Granstaff made contact with the driver, John Farmer. The trooper’s report stated that as he got closer to Farmer, he observed an odor that is normally associated with alcoholic beverages on and about his person, slurred speech, and watery eyes.

It was reported that Farmer was continuously asking the same question and he refused all standardized field sobriety tests offered by the trooper. Trooper Grandstaff stated that he found a blister pack containing four pills of etizolam, and two empty blister packs near the vehicle. Also inside the vehicle was a box for the pills which came from China. On November 12th, Farmer was convicted of his first DUI offense, making this his second.

John Farmer was arrested and charged with driving under the influence- 2nd offense, and possession of Etizolam. He was later released on a $3,000 bond.
