Man grabs ex-girlfriend’s hair, breaks her phone when she attempts to call police

53-year-old Clifton Crutcher was charged with violation of conditional release, domestic assault, vandalism, and interference with emergency calls after he admitted to drinking alcohol and broke his ex-girlfriend’s phone when she tried to call the police.

On December 10th, Mt. Juliet Police Officer Jamison arrived at the residence of Clifton Crutcher at 12257 Lebanon Road in response to a domestic dispute report. Upon arrival, the officer separated and identified both parties as Shelly Goodman and Clifton Crutcher. It was revealed Crutcher had active bond conditions that stated he was to stay away from Goodman and he was prohibited from drinking alcohol. He then admitted to drinking prior to police arrival.

On December 11th, Mt. Juliet Police Officer Smith responded to a domestic dispute at 12257 Lebanon Road. Upon arrival, the officer made contact with Christi Russell and Clifton Crutcher. According to the report, Crutcher came home upset because Russell called the police on him. Crutcher grabbed Russell’s hair while she was laying in bed and during their argument, she grabbed her phone to call the police. Crutcher then took her phone from her, broke it, and threw it outside.

On December 10th, Clifton Crutcher was arrested and charged with violation of conditional release. He was released on December 11th on his own recognizance.
