Man pulled over for light violation admits to drinking four beers

42-year-old Anthony Martin was charged with DUI and violation of conditional release after police say he admitted to drinking four beers before driving during a traffic stop for a light law violation.

On December 6th, Mt. Juliet Police Officer Jamison conducted a traffic stop for a light law violation. Contact was made with the driver, Anthony Martin, and when asked for his driver’s license, Martin handed over a work ID badge. Officer Jamison reported he smelled of alcohol, had slurred speech, and was unsteady on his feet.

According to the report, Martin informed the officer he consumed four beers and he performed poorly on all of the sobriety tests initiated. Further investigation revealed Martin was out on bond from a previous domestic assault that prohibited the consumption of alcohol.

Anthony Martin was arrested and charged with DUI and violation of conditional release. He is currently jailed in lieu of a $6,500 bond.
