Soon-to-be ex-husband charged after causing marks on woman’s back and neck

56-year-old Jose Carro Arrubarrena was charged with domestic assault after he got into an argument with his wife while they were in the middle of a divorce and assaulted her when she hit him with a charging cable.

On December 5th, Watertown Police Officer James Fuller received an assault report from Deyanira Idana Rodriguez Alvarado at the residence of 307 Bryant Street. Deyanira advised she and her husband, Jose Carro Aburrbarrena, were going through a divorce, and he started arguing with her that day.

She stated she hit Jose with a phone charging cable when he took her phone out of her pocket, and that was when he hit her. According to the affidavit, Jose has assaulted Deyanira before and always hits her on her neck, back, and places where no one can see bruising. This time, Deyanira forced Jose out of the house, and the officer witnessed marks on her back and neck from the assault. It was also noted in the report that an interpreter was needed.

Jose Carro Arrubarrena was arrested and charged with domestic assault. He was released on a $1,000 bond.
