Stolen rifle and baggie of meth found during traffic stop

41-year-old Jennifer Locke and 42-year-old Eric Pitts were charged with possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia after being found with a stolen gun, meth, and a cut straw during a light law violation traffic stop.

On November 27th, Watertown Police Officer Nicholas Deck heard a call about someone on Statesville Road and Sparta Pike leaving the scene of an incident. He found the vehicle, which had a light law violation, and initiated a traffic stop. He then made contact with the driver, Eric Pitts, and the passenger, Jennifer Locke. Upon approaching the vehicle, Officer Deck saw a .22 Henry repeating rifle in between them. It was revealed that the weapon was reported stolen from Warren County, TN in 2009. The estimated cost of the rifle was less than $300.

Officer Deck also found what was reported to be a black zip-up pouch that Jennifer was seen hiding under the driver’s seat. Inside the pouch was a baggy with a crystalline substance believed to be methamphetamine, a knife, a red cut straw containing residue, and a metal pipe containing marijuana residue.

Jennifer Locke was arrested and charged with violation of probation, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was later released on her own recognizance.
