23-year-old Grant Jones was charged with possession of marijuana and tampering with evidence, and 24-year-old Steven Rose was charged with possession of marijuana for resale and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony after they were pulled over for a light law violation.
On November 23rd, Mt. Juliet Police Officer Hoppe and Llukaj reported a silver Dodge Charger on Beckwith Road driving at night without any license plate lights. Officer Llukaj advised as he initiated a traffic stop at Beckwith Road and South Rutland Road, the passenger, Grant Jones, threw a bag of marijuana out the window.

According to the affidavit, the police made contact with the driver, Steven Rose. The officers advised that a strong smell of marijuana came from inside the car resulting in a search of the vehicle. Rose informed the police that there was a bag of marijuana in the center console, as well as in a black backpack. The search revealed the plastic bag of marijuana and a Glock 19 with 17 bullets inside the magazine. The black backpack located in the backseat contained a clear plastic bag and a purple plastic bag of marijuana. The officers noted that labeling was on the purple bag, and there was a total of three bags of marijuana.
Rose claimed ownership of the contents found inside the vehicle, and Jones admitted to throwing a bag of marijuana and a “lit blunt” out the window. When the officers asked why he would throw a bag of weed out of the car, Jones stated that it was because he knew they were about to get pulled over. While on foot, officers located the bag of marijuana and the marijuana cigarette that Jones threw out of the window before the traffic stop.
Grant Jones was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and tampering with evidence. He was released on his own recognizance.
Steven Rose was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana for resale and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. He was released on a $4,500 bond. Steven Rose was listed as Stevon Rose on inmate lookup and listed as both in the affidavit.
