35-year-old Alta Thweatt was charged with child neglect, possession of heroin, and drug paraphernalia after she was found passed out by her 14-year-old with a used syringe and heroin.
On December 9th, Lebanon Police Officer Rourke responded to a 911 call from a hysterical 14-year-old at the residence of Alta Thweatt, located at 111 Oak Street. According to the report, the 14-year-old informed the police that his mother, Alta Thweatt, was on the bed and would not wake up.
Alta was unconscious in the bedroom with a belt and a used syringe on the bed next to her. There was also a clear bag of heroin, a kitchen measuring spoon, and a used cotton ball in an open drawer of the bedside table.
Alta Thweatt was arrested and charged with child neglect, possession of heroin, and drug paraphernalia. She was released on a $5,000 bond.
