DUI: Soldier charged after medical records reveal .171 BAC, months after crash — Jaydon Coon

22-year-old Jaydon Coon is charged with DUI. The THP subpoenaed his medical records after a crash on Cooks Road in Mt. Juliet on June 18th. Records show he was intoxicated by more than double the legal limit in Tennessee at the time of the crash.

Jaydon Paul Coon, 22, was booked into the Wilson County Jail on 08/06/21 at 7:09 p.m., charged with driving under the influence. Coon, who is in the Army, was ROR’d at9:23 p.m., and is scheduled to appear in court in March.

Below is the arrest warrant narrative, which was filed with the court:

Arrest Warrant / Sworn Affidavit:
On 06/18/2021 at approximately 9:32 PM, I, Trooper Webster, was dispatched to a single-vehicle injury crash near 1106 Cooks Rd in Mt. Juliet, TN. The driver of the yellow Jeep Wrangler involved in the crash was identified as Jaydon P. Coon (04/08/1999), Coon had red, watery eyes and stated he had been drinking. Several empty and full beer bottles were found in the debris that was ejected during the crash. An odor of an intoxicant was observed coming from the inside of the vehicle, and a beer bottle cap was located on the driver-side floorboard. Due to Coon’s injuries, Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were not attempted. Coon’s medical records were subpoenaed from TriStar Summit Medical Center where he was transported to after the crash. The medical records indicate Coon’s BAC level was 0.171. Coon is charged with DUI, TCA 55-10-401
