On 08/31/2021 at approximately 1652 hrs. I Officer N. Deck was dispatched to Hunters Funeral Home located at 208 West Main Street Watertown Tennessee 37184 in reference to a fight in the parking lot. Upon my arrival, I made contact with Judy Tarpley, Bryar Hight, and Brenda Willis.

While speaking to Ms. Tarpley, Ms. Tarpley stated they were at their mom’s funeral and she was saying goodbye to her, blood sister, Mrs. Willis, Mrs. Willis came to her car window, stuck her hand inside the vehicle, and began yelling at her about their mother’s property.

Ms. Tarpley stated, she exited her vehicle and they began yelling at each other. I was then advised by Mr. Hight that he tried to intervene in the argument because it was escalating. Mr. Hight stated when he intervened Ms. Willis punched him In the face causing his jaw to turn pink and swell.

Ms. Tarpley stated after Ms. Willis punched Mr. Hight, she came after her striking her in the face knocking her glasses to the ground and causing a bloody scratch above her eye. Ms. Tarpley stated, Ms. Willis then struck her In the back. Due to Ms. Willis threatening behavior Ms. Tarpley and her sister pinned Ms. Willis to the ground until Ms. Willis calmed down.

Written statements were taken from Mr. Highland and Ms. Tarpley. Due to Ms. Willis being related to Ms. Tarpley and Mr. Hight by blood and assaulting them she was determined to be the primary aggressor and Is in direct violation of TCA: 39-13-111 domestic assault.
