Police found 41-year-old Amanda Williams backed into two parking spaces at the Lebanon Speedway, seemingly asleep with her mouth open and looking up at the roof of the vehicle. She appeared heavily impaired, and told police she had taken “half a Xanax”. She refused treatment by medics and was said to have mood swings in the back of the patrol car on the way to booking, where she was charged with public intoxication.

| On 08/31/2021 I was dispatched to the Speedway gas station located at 1135 Murfreesboro Road. Upon arrival, I saw the offender (Amanda Williams) In the front driver’s seat of a red Chevrolet Blazer. The Blazer was backed into two parking spaces in front of the building. The offender was asleep with her mouth open, looking up at the roof of the car. I approached the car and knocked on the window. The offender did not respond. I then opened the driver’s door and yelled for the offender to wake up. She woke up, and I told her to exit the vehicle. The offender exited the vehicle. When the offender exited the vehicle, I saw that she had pinpoint pupils. While exiting the vehicle the offender was unsteady on her feet. I asked the offender if she had taken anything, and she informed me that she had taken a half of a Xanax. I called WEMA to the scene since the offender stated that she had taken drugs. When WEMA arrived, the offender stated that she wanted to be seen in the back of the ambulance. When the offender got into the back of the ambulance, she then informed WEMA that she was not going to let them check her vitals. The offender appeared extremely fatigued. The offender stated that she was tired from not sleeping recently. The offender was too intoxicated to care for herself, and it was at this time that I took the offender into custody. While in the back of my patrol car and at booking the offender had extreme mood swing. I am charging the offender with TCA 39-17-310 (Public Intoxication). The crime did occur in Wilson County, TN. |
