Mt. Juliet Police took Michael Dunn into custody just before 11 p.m. on August 18th, after he was found lying outside a local Mexican restaurant, half in the grass, half in the parking lot, unable to care for himself with no ride home.
Michael Dunn, who has held more than a few law enforcement positions, left the Tennessee Highway Patrol in October, and now works for the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT), where a spokesperson this week confirmed his job as an ‘Operations Technician’ involves driving for the state. Prior to this week’s arrest, Dunn was charged with DUI in May, though TDOT says he was on ‘military leave’ during that arrest, for which the court case continues.
On August 18th, Mt. Juliet Police responded to the Cinco De Mayo restaurant on Lebanon Rd, in response to an allegedly intoxicated man lying halfway in the grass, halfway in the parking lot. Upon contact, Officer Cody Smith identified the man as Michael Dunn, and noticed an odor off alcohol coming from him, and that he was unsteady on his feet when he stood. Dunn did not have a ride home, so he was transported to booking for the safety of himself and the public, per an arrest warrant.
Michael Dunn, who was released on his own recognizance after his DUI arrest in May, was given a $500 bond after being charged with public intoxication. He posted bond via Devil Made Me Do It Bonding, and was released just after 11 .am. the next morning.
