LPN at Providence Place charged with stealing from a 94-year-old resident

31-year-old Elizabeth McKenzie Sugg is charged with theft after a family at Providence Place Senior Living in Mt. Juliet hid a nanny-cam in a 94-year-old woman’s room and captured her stealing the elderly resident’s things.

Mt. Juliet Police responded to Providence Place on Charlie Daniels Parkway on January 3rd to investigate recent thefts. Family members of a resident installed a camera in the resident’s room after the 94-year-old told them that people were coming into her room at night, going through her things, and taking them.

The video footage showed LPN Elizabeth Sugg coming into the room, and going through the elderly resident’s belonging, and placing various items into her pockets before leaving the room. Some of the items taken were found in Sugg’s vehicle. Sugg is charged with theft and is free on a $2500 bond.

Sugg was issued a Nurse’s Aide license in 2005 and was granted a Licensed Practical Nursing license in 2010. She has not had any negative marks on her license. She is scheduled to appear in court in April.
