Man calls Mt. Juliet Officer a ‘piglet’; arrested for public intoxication

37-year-old Jonathan Stanford is charged with public intoxication after officers responded to a fight that broke out at Jonathan’s Grille. After he was located, he called Mt. Juliet Officer Megan Smith a ‘piglet’, according to an arrest warrant.

Officer Megan Smith was dispatched to Jonathan’s Grille in reference to a fight at the location. The men involved left before officers arrived but their vehicle was located. Officer Smith made contact with the passenger, Jonathan Stanford, who then exited the vehicle.

Officers report that Jonathan smelled of alcohol, had bloodshot, watery eyes, slurred speech, and was unsteady on his feet. Jonathan was also extremely uncooperative and began arguing with Officer Smith and calling her a piglet. Jonathan was deemed a danger to himself and the general public and was taken into custody.

Jonathan Stanford was arrested for public intoxication and was later released on his own recognizance.
