On August 30th, Lebanon Police Officer Downs responded to 1926 Roanoke Drive in reference to a dispute in progress. Thomas stated that he was trying to leave the residence but Stephanie grabbed a handgun and continued to follow him. She destroyed the security camera stating that he would not be able to prove he did not assault her. They both exited the house through the sunroom where Stephanie grabbed an ax and threw it on the ground and warned him that she would tell police he used it to threaten her. Stephanie fired the gun once Thomas was at the end of the driveway, not posing a threat to her.

Stephanie Cavanagh was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. Her bond was set at $2,500.
