On November 27th, Mt. Juliet Police Detective Bancroft arrived at the Speedway on 12115 Lebanon Road in response to an overdose call. Upon arrival, Tara Word was laying on the sidewalk and advised she asked Alesha Hudson-Brogdon to meet her at the gas station after she had been trying to contact her for the past few days. According to the affidavit, Word told Brogdon she was feeling faint and did not remember anything that happened afterward. Detective Bancroft reported no texts were found on her phone between the two and was informed by Word that her purse containing her glasses and $400 was missing.

Brogden was located in the yard of her house at 110 Sports Road, where she confirmed she met with a friend at Speedway. She told the police her friend was acting erratically and said they were not feeling well. Brogdon admitted to taking Word’s things and a search of her residence revealed Word’s purse with an ID and $360 in a sock.

Alesha Hudson-Brogdon was arrested and charged with theft of property and reckless endangerment. She was released on a $2,500 bond.
