39-year-old Steven Purkerson was charged with public intoxication when he was found by police unsteady on his feet and smelling of an intoxicant after they were called to 405 South Cumberland about him asking customers for crack.
On July 20th, an officer was dispatched to 405 South Cumberland in Lebanon for an intoxicated person who was later identified as the defendant, Steven Purkerson.
When the officer arrived and made contact with Purkerson he noticed an odor of intoxicant on his breath as well as him being unsteady on his feet and slurring his speech. Purkerson was walking around asking the customers of a business for crack. So for the safety of the public, he was placed into custody.
Steven Purkerson was arrested and charged with public intoxication. He was later released on his own recognizance.
