Drunk man charged with DUI after driving into ditch

25-year-old Joel Vasquez-Perez was charged with driving under the influence and driving without a license when officers found his vehicle in a ditch and he admitted to drinking three beers, per report.

On August 22nd, Corporal Chris Brandenburg responded to a vehicle in a ditch on Spring Creek Road. Upon arrival, the officer identified the driver of the vehicle to be Joel Vasquez Perez.

CPL Brandenburg stated that Perez had an odor of alcohol on and about his person. He also advised that he had red, watery eyes, slurred speech, and was unsteady on his feet. Perez told CPL Brandenburg that he had consumed three beers. Multiple field sobriety tests were assigned and Perez showed signs of impairment on all three. Perez was taken into custody and it was later revealed that he had no valid driver’s license. This was Perez’s first DUI offense.

Joel Vasquez Perez was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and driving without a license. His bond was set at $3,000.
