Mt. Juliet man charged with handgun possession while driving under the influence / DUI

45-year-old Chadwick Dindo, a licensed gun carry permit holder, was found to be in possession of a Glock handgun while officers say he was driving under the influence in Mt. Juliet early Saturday morning.

Wilson County Deputy Austin Hite noticed a light law violation on a vehicle traveling near Central Pike and S. Mt. Juliet Road on just before midnight last Friday, August 30th. A traffic stop was initiated, and the driver was found to be Chadwick Joseph Dindo, 45, of Mt. Juliet. An arrest warrant notes a distinct odor of alcohol coming from Dindo, along with with red watery eyes, and slurred speech when interacting with the officer.

Dindo admitted he had been drinking prior to driving, according to an arrest report. He performed several field sobriety tests, all of which indicated impairment according to Deputy Hite. A records check of Hite was completed incident to arrest, and a Glock model 32 .357 handgun was found in the truck he was driving.

Chadwick Joseph Dindo was charged DUI (driving under the influence), and possession of a handgun while under the influence. He was booked into the Wilson County Jail at 12:43 a.m. on August 31st, and released on his own recognizance, per an order signed by Judicial Commissioner Patricia Hamblin. He is scheduled to appear in court in December.
