23-year-old Thomas ‘Tommy’ Deashawn Hall was released on his own recognizance by a Judicial Commissioner after police say he was half-naked in a Sally Beauty store attempting to sexually assault a female clerk who locked herself in a back room of the store.
Lebanon Police Officer David Winfree responded to the Sally Beauty Store on S. Cumberland Street in Lebanon on August 31st after concerned citizens had detained Thomas Hall, 23, by backing him into a corner of the store. Upon arrival, it was learned that the 23-year-old man, who was shirtless and barefoot, had been following the store female store employee around attempting to have sexual contact with her. She was able to lock herself in a back room to remain safe from him, while some concerned citizens back him into a corner while waiting on police to arrive.
Officers attempted to talk to Thomas Hall, but he would only talk to himself, saying “thank God, thank God, thank God, I’m alive. Officer note it was apparent he was under the influence of an unknown drug and was taken into custody for the safety of himself and the public at large. Officer Winfree charged Hall with public intoxication and booked him into the Wilson County Jail, where Judicial Commissioner Patricia Hamblin released him on his own recognizance with a November court date.
