Teen assaults one roommate over rent, punches another who intervenes

18-year-old Melissa Williams is charged with two counts of domestic assault after police say she assaulted two roommates on November 9th.

Lebanon Police responded to Creekwood Crossing on November 9th to the report of a domestic assault. According to police, Melissa Williams, 18, was in an argument with one of her roommates, Maliah Harris, about rent money. The argument reportedly became violent when Williams became angered and began swinging at and punching the initial victim. She caused bruising to Harris’ left eye, which was noted on the officers’ report.

During the assault, another roommate, identified as Edward Parker, attempted to intervene and stop the assault. For his trouble, police say he was punched in the face by Melissa Williams, leaving him with a busted lip. Melissa Williams was charged with two counts of domestic assault, and booked into the Wilson County jail, where she served the mandatory 12-hour domestic violence hold before being released on her own recognizance.
