Man stabs car his ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend are in

Benjamin Briggs Jr., 22, was charged with aggravated assault and aggravated domestic assault after he followed, threatened, and attacked the vehicle that his ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend were in.

Officer Jeff Tibbs responded to 75 Bellvue Drive for a report of threats. When he arrived on the scene he was met by Ashley Stafford and Kodi Holdeman. During questioning, both victims stated that Ashley’s ex-boyfriend, Benjamin Briggs, had been sending them threatening text messages. They both went on to say that Benjamin began following them as they traveled in a vehicle. Once Ashley and Kodi stopped in front of Kodi’s residence, Benjamin exited his vehicle and approached them with a knife in his hand.

Benjamin then began cursing and threatening to kill both of them as he pointed the knife at them while sitting in their vehicle. Benjamin also stabbed the vehicle and punched the door multiple times, while still threatening to kill both Ashley and Kodi. Officer Tibbs observed damage to the vehicle that was consistent with the narratives given by both victims. Ashley and Kodi said that after several minutes of the attack, Benjamin returned to his vehicle and left the scene. The victims were in reasonable fear for their safety and welfare and it was determined that Benjamin was the primary aggressor, according to the affidavit.

Benjamin Briggs Jr. was arrested for Aggravated Assault and Aggravated Domestic Assault. His bond was set at $15,000.
