Xanax and a suspended license leads to DUI and more

Kayla Kayser, 33, was charged with DUI, drug paraphernalia, possession of a schedule IV drug, and driving on suspended 2nd offense after swerving in her vehicle eventually lead to a stop and search.

On January 15th, Officer Chery was on patrol and observed a vehicle swerving erratically between the fog line and center line numerous times. The officer initiated a traffic stop and the driver was identified as Kayla Kayser. According to the affidavit, Kayla’s speech was slurred and during a standard field sobriety test, she exhibited signs of impairment during all aspects of the test.

Upon a search of the vehicle, her purse was found to contain 2 Xanax pills and a glass pipe. A computer check revealed that Kayla’s license was suspended for failure to appear in 2018. Kayla was taken into custody, transported to booking, and charged accordingly.

Kayla Kayser was arrested and charged with DUI, Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of a Schedule IV Drug, and Driving on Suspended 2nd Offense. Her bond was set at $1,500.
