Man kicks chair out from under wife, charged with domestic assault

28-year-old Mitkumar Patel was charged with domestic assault after kicking a chair out from under his wife and trying to drag her out of the house while telling her to leave, per the affidavit.

On March 17th, Officer Michael Wiley was dispatched for a domestic assault report at the Mt. Juliet Police Department on Charlie Daniels Parkway. The officer made contact with Jenny Patel, who stated that she was involved in an argument with her husband Mitkumar Patel. She went on to say the argument turned physical when Mitkumar kicked a chair out from under her causing her to fall to the ground. Jenny also stated Mitkumar then grabbed her by the arm and drug her to the door of the residence and told her to leave.

Police observed a red mark on the inside of Jenny’s right arm. Officers contacted Mitkumar by telephone and he admitted that he and Jenny did have an argument and that he grabbed her by the arm, but denied all other statements made by Jenny. Mitkumar was determined to be the primary aggressor.

Mitkumar Patel was arrested and charged with domestic assault. He was later released on his own recognizance.
