Woman charged with possession of meth, drug paraphernalia after stop for expired tags

33-year-old Cayla Schneider was charged with simple possession of meth and drug paraphernalia after being pulled over for expired tags that leads to officers discovering an outstanding warrant and several drug-related items in her vehicle.

On March 13th, Officer Neal with the Mt. Juliet Police Department was conducting routine patrol in the area of Mt. Juliet Road. The officer stated he observed a vehicle with an expired tag and initiated a traffic stop. The driver was identified as Cayla Schneider.

Cayla’s information was checked in the system and discovered an active warrant for her in Davidson County. The officer placed Cayla into custody and began searching her vehicle. While searching, Officer Neal found a hypodermic needle in the passenger door, a set of digital scales in the glove box, a silver can containing a plastic bag with a clear crystal-like substance resembling methamphetamine, a handbag on the floor that contained several hypodermic syringes, cotton balls, and a tourniquet.

Cayla Schneider was arrested and charged with simple possession of meth and drug paraphernalia. Her bond was set at $3,000.
